L1690
Review tall and deep parts on a Z-rail platform.
L1265 · Z-rail VMC
For heavy cutting with a Z-rail column.

Machine details
The 1,200 x 600 mm envelope of the VMC1265 with the Z axis carried directly on the column rail — a layout that keeps the spindle nose short over the table.
On an L-series machine the Z saddle does not overhang: the head rides the column rail itself. That shortens the distance between the spindle nose and the rail, which is where deflection starts when a small cutter is working at long reach. X and Y run on 45-size linear guides with C3 ballscrews fixed at both ends.
Travels are 1,200 x 650 x 650 mm, the table is 1,200 x 600 mm with 5-18-100 T-slots and carries 800 kg. Rapids are 24/24/18 m/min and the BT40/150 spindle stops at nothing unusual — a 24-station disc magazine changes tools in 2.5 s. Positioning 0.008 mm, repeatability 0.005 mm.
The machine is aimed at work where rigidity in Z matters more than table size: hard milling of pre-hardened stock, deep cavity roughing with small diameter cutters, and fixtures with tall clamping. It stands 3,300 x 2,600 x 3,360 mm at about 6,800 kg.
